In the field of human resources, discovering and unleashing talent potential has always been a key focus for enterprises. Recently, the 13th MoTalk salon, organized by MoSeeker with strong support from JLL, was successfully held at JLL’s Shanghai office. Centered on the theme of “Talent Development and Performance Evaluation,” the event brought together numerous HR experts and senior executives for engaging keynote speeches and lively roundtable discussions.
Participants delved into trending topics such as qualifications for job roles, performance improvement, and work models, sharing insights on the latest trends and challenges. Together, they explored various strategies and practices to fully unlock talent potential and drive organizational talent strategy and business growth. In addition, attendees were given a quick overview of JLL’s full lifecycle real estate business, toured workspaces designed for both professionalism and comfort, and experienced firsthand how human-centric care is integrated into the workplace, gaining a deeper understanding of JLL’s unique corporate philosophy and employer brand.
Guo Xiaolei, Founding Partner of a human resources consulting firm, delivered a keynote speech titled “How to Use Qualifications to Drive Talent Development.” He introduced the core value of a comprehensive qualification system focused on employee capabilities, illustrating with practical cases how this system can optimize talent structure and management. He remarked, “From an organizational needs perspective, it’s essential to clarify the direction and standards for employee development. This guides employees to improve their skills in a standardized, efficient, and proactive manner, ultimately enhancing organizational capabilities and supporting sustained business growth.”
Senior organizational development consultant Fran Wu gave a presentation on “The Performance Improvement Canvas,” emphasizing that performance management should be approached as a mathematical problem rather than a numbers game. Tools and methodologies are essential for breaking down the process, and the Performance Improvement Canvas is a systematic method that helps companies directly address HR pain points. She not only outlined the theoretical framework but also used vivid case studies to explain each key step and execution detail of the canvas, from setting initial objectives to finalizing solutions, providing attendees with a deeper understanding of how to harness this powerful tool.

Jiang Licheng, Chief Human Resources Officer of JLL Greater China; Michael Gan, Senior HR Director for Mainland China and Taiwan at AECOM; Irene Jin, HR Director for ASMPT SMT Greater China; and Dr. Zheng Chunguo, Senior Corporate Compliance Officer and Senior HR Assessment Expert, participated in the roundtable discussion, focusing on the topic of “Efficient and Flexible Work Models.” They shared insights and experiences related to remote work, hybrid office models, technology enablement, and leadership development, while also presenting practices from their respective companies.
When it comes to flexible work models, the panelists all stressed the importance of interpersonal communication. Jiang Licheng emphasized the need to increase communication between people, especially face-to-face interactions. As a result, her company has adjusted its training strategy and implemented personal interaction activities that are not work-related. Irene Jin also noted that face-to-face engagement cannot be fully replaced by virtual meetings, so her company encourages employees to come to the office to interact directly with colleagues. On the topic of manager development, Jiang highlighted that leaders should keep pace with change, shift their mindset, guide their teams while improving themselves, and actively embrace emerging technologies. Michael Gan viewed management as an art, likening supervisors to a buddy or coach who should not intervene in every matter. The collision of ideas at the roundtable inspired participants to reflect further on innovation in work models.

At the end of the event, Neo Huang, Senior Director of JLL Commercial Real Estate, gave a professional and in-depth introduction to the trends in Shanghai’s building leasing market and explained how JLL provides clients with forward-thinking leasing solutions, especially in an environment of noticeably slowing economic growth. His presentation was highly recognized by the audience. Afterwards, under Neo’s guidance, all participants gained a deeper understanding of the design philosophy behind JLL’s office buildings. The workspace is not only designed to support efficient working—such as open collaborative areas for flexible meetings—but also provides employees with many heartfelt features for a comfortable and convenient experience, clearly reflecting JLL’s people-centered employer values.
The office includes a bar area with free drinks, an independent gym and shower facilities for employees to exercise and relax at any time, as well as soundproof installations and private phone booths to ensure quiet environments for focused work. The extensive use of eco-friendly materials, donation boxes for recycling old items, and motion-sensing energy-saving lighting all demonstrate JLL’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
With the successful conclusion of the 13th MoTalk salon, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants, especially for JLL’s enthusiastic support. We look forward to future events continuing to bring new inspiration and momentum to the HR industry, and to exploring new frontiers in human resource management together with more industry leaders and practitioners.
