YCYW had previously worked with an independent software vendor to build an AI interview system designed for assessing international talent, with the aim of improving recruitment efficiency and reducing manpower costs. However, as usage deepened, a series of tough issues emerged, falling short of expectations and hampering normal recruitment operations. As a result, YCYW opted to find a new provider and reconstruct the AI interview process:

  • Limited Product Functionality: The old AI interview system was unable to keep up with evolving business needs, urgently requiring a new solution;
  • Poor User Experience: The previous system was cumbersome to configure and lacked smooth interaction, making it challenging to use for both HR and candidates. Feedback was overwhelmingly negative;
  • Data Compliance Risks: The previous system did not sufficiently address data compliance, especially concerning personal information regulations.

Solution

 

  • Automated Processes: The entire interview process is highly automated, greatly reducing manual intervention; only a few stages require HR involvement, such as preparing (and reusing) questions or making final candidate selections;
  • Multidimensional Evaluation: Based on candidates’ responses, AI automatically scores overall performance across multiple dimensions, including fluency, richness, relevance, and completeness. An intelligent assistant powered by large language models provides in-depth commentary for recruiters’ reference;
  • One-Click Interview Access: Candidates can start the interview at any time and from anywhere with a simple link, completing it easily on either computer or mobile. This streamlined approach eliminates the need for time coordination between HR and candidates, enhancing recruitment flexibility;
  • English Language Support: As English is YCYW’s primary working language, the new AI interview system fully accommodates English interviews and can recognize accents from different regions.

Impact

 

  • Within six months of launching the AI interview system, over 500 candidates were automatically assessed, with 44% of interviews completed outside HR’s regular working hours, significantly narrowing the talent pool and improving the efficiency of recruiting top teachers.
  • The system enables smooth English Q&A, accurately handles accented English speech from candidates worldwide, converts it to text, and provides intelligent scoring and commentary—facilitating YCYW’s global search for exceptional educational talent.
  • YCYW prioritizes recruiting high-quality candidates over sheer numbers. The multidimensional evaluation provided by AI helps HR to better identify talent that meets requirements, with a unified evaluation standard that eliminates human subjectivity and ensures fair, objective assessment results.
