Responsibilities:
1) Work on Safety CAE/Attribute to meet requirements on future model programs.
• Master Pedestrian protection requirements in globe, like CNCAP, CIASI, GB, EUNCAP, ECE,FMVSS, USNCAP
• Analysis of Safety requirements using FEA models
• Support CAE model build process with best common practice.
• Development of design solutions to any issues identified in analysis and/or test.
2) Coordinate and support Studio design, PMT’s and other Attributes’ requests for design confirmation and direction
• Support Safety target development and cascade (i.e. Investigate benchmark and surrogate data, suggest studio and balance styling and front-end structure).
• To coordinate Pedpro model builds and analysis to achieve program gateways.
• To effectively communicate CAE results and design proposals to D&R, across function teams, and program managements.
• Track physical and analytical test results to support ASR documentation.
• Track down and resolve blockers of the Safety issues and avoid any attribute risk for a program.
• Lead communication of Safety issues and solutions to the broader organization to ensure competent implementation (act as a key liaison person between CAE community, Studio DTO, Test Engineering,
• PMT engineers and PG Test personnel).
3) Work to improve CAE to test correlation, develop on-going methods and process improvements.
• A proactive team member continuously striving to improve the quality of CAE output and achieve targets.
• Work with D&R and test engineering team to ensure consistency between experiment and analytical is achieved. Including loading, boundary conditions and material properties are correct.
• Work with Safety to ensure latest methodologies applied in work conducted at FAP.
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Automotive Eng etc.)
• with 3 or above years of work experience
• Can clearly and effectively communicate conclusions drawn from analyses and test results.
• Safety design/test/CAE experience in auto industry
• Skills required for efficient handling of CAE softwares : Ls-Dyna, ANSA, Primer, Hyperworks and/or equivalent.
• Good skills on the plans, presentations, and effectively run the meetings, including on the writing agenda and meeting minutes. Clearly and concisely communications
• Actively seek out, understand, and implement global best practice in FEA methodology.
• Have the drive to take ownership of the attribute and lead the team to resolve issues & achieve their targets.
• Be able to critique CAE and physical test results to seek out quality issues/improvements.
