Accounting Analyst is responsible for the correct and efficient execution of financial processes in line with our corporate policies. The purpose of the role is to ensure that accounting practices within the organization are compliant with the legislation and all SARS and other legal Regulations are applied, all accounting procedures followed and documented. It is also to ensure that reporting and financial controls are in place and in compliance with Mars financial guidelines.

What are we looking for?

•University degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent job experience a must

•+5 years’ experience working in a business finance accounting environment

•A background and experience in implementing, monitoring or testing financial controls

What will be your key responsibilities?

•Responsible for period and year end closing activities and reporting

•Analysis of periodic results

•Analysis of budget to actual

•Review of the trial balance and maintenance of the permanent account audit file

•Inventory adjustments

•Stock reports & stock analysis

•Point of contact for specialist teams (e.g. Treasury, Tax, Currency Centre or Auditing firm)

•Fixed assets management

•Internal control & Audit

•Implementation of priorities defined by the Group

•Drafting procedures

•Improvement of the compliance check list's score

•Ensuring compliance with procedures

•Management of the audit process including interim and end-of-year audits by tax authorities and auditors

•Legal requirements

•Preparation of all statutory reportings

•Management of all Mars internal reportings

•Periodical TAX declarations including VAT

•Ensuring payment run checks
