Accountabilities
The Innovation Project Manager - Connectivity is required to develop and lead telecommunication’s related projects for the aviation industry. This includes the following activities:
• Identify collaboration partners, negotiate and execute collaboration contracts.
• Lead a multi-functional team across different counties.
• Deliver technical feasibility and Proof of Concepts.
• Business development, turn initial idea into feasible business models with or without partners.
• Project Management, run regular progress meetings, reporting, finance tracking, quality deliverables.
• Secure the internal project buy-in and project validation throughout the project life-cycle.
• Plan and coordinate customer feedback sessions for innovation projects.
• Monitor technology development and update implementation roadmap.
Main activities
As the Innovation Project Manager - Connectivity your mission is to leverage Chinese local technology strength in the telecommunications and related industry to create business value for the aviation industry. You will work in an international business environment where your experience, expertise and knowledge will set the fundament for our future products.
Your role comprises the following activities:
• Screen the market, together with internal stakeholders, for relevant technologies and companies in your field of responsibility.
• Define and draft business value and collaboration scope with relevant 3rd parties.
• Make sure the project(s) under his/her responsibility has/ have been connected to all the resources available in particular in China and Europe.
• Lead the project(s) and monitor the project(s) progress comprising design, planning, testing, technical deliverables, sourcing, partnership management, certification…
• Lead external project partners including subcontractors or Design Companies.
• Assess continuously the technology’s value and the associated business value/model for implementation.
• Analyze project’s budget condition to make sure it’s financially on track.
• Guide the project towards commercialization and act as a bridge between local partners and Airbus HQ.
You will be part of an agile team that is located in Shenzhen and Suzhou. This role can require business
travels. Being a community within Airbus, we rely on the curiosity and flexibility of our

• You hold a Master’s degree in Electronics / Communications Engineering or comparable.
• You have at least 10 years experience in the Telecommunications, Avionics Industry or similar.
• Ideally, you bring experience with 5G, 3GPP NTN, IoT, and regulations.
• You have fluent communication (reading, listening, speaking, writing) skills in English and Chinese.
• Willingness to continuously extend your own knowledge.
