The role of a Program Buyer is to select and pilot suppliers within the list given and approved by the commodity buyers, in order to achieve the Q,C,D objectives. The main mission of the role are to:
Contribute to the conception of the client offer: participate in the program team from the offer conception phase (Pre-RFQA), and involve expert suppliers in the Pre-RFQA phase
Supplier selection: identify, in accordance with the commodity buyer, and consult panel suppliers. Negotiate or participate in the suppliers negotiations and in the final choice of supplier with the commodity buyer.
Performance follow-up during the program phase: manage suppliers, pilot costs in comparison with objectives, pilot the quality during the program phase, respect of delivery deadlines and in particular ensure that the « gate reviews » are held (within the framework of the Program Management System: PMS)
Lead the global steering and sourcing committee meetings for the program and ensure that the purchasing assumptions are optimized on a global basis, considering local and global sourcing options and selecting the option with the best landed cost and performance
Ensure the transfer of the program to the plant buyer after final validation of suppliers
Manage specific mandated suppliers when requested and agreed with customers
The ideal candidate will have/be:
Bachelor degree in engineering or purchasing related
Minimum 3 years experience as a Program Buyer in an industrial environment
Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills
Ability to work in a matrixed organization
International mind set, overseas experience a plus
Minimum bi-lingual (English mandatory)
