Qualification Engineer

You will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality standards for our products by qualifying both manufacturing processes and final outputs. In this position, you will collaborate with global teams, drive continuous improvement, and help deliver products that exceed customer expectations. This is an excellent opportunity to deepen your expertise in product qualification within the dynamic med-tech industry and contribute directly to the excellence of our renowned Sennheiser product lines.

 You will be based in Guangzhou and report to the Director, Global Product & Process Qualification.

More about the role:

In this role, you will be the quality guardian throughout the product development and manufacturing lifecycle. Your mission is to ensure that every product meets rigorous standards and performs reliably in the hands of our customers.

·      End-to-End Product & Process Qualification: Lead qualification activities during various stages of the development cycle for both products and manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with design requirements and customer expectations.

·      FMEA Facilitation & Quality Planning: Facilitate and participate in Design and Process FMEA sessions at the Singapore office and vendor sites. Develop comprehensive quality plans in close collaboration with product management and development teams.

·      Testing & Analysis: Support accelerated and automation testing in the laboratory, particularly for hearing aid devices. Analyze qualification results and provide data-driven insights and recommendations.

·      Market Feedback & Issue Resolution: Analyze and follow up on market complaints during mass production, working closely with the team in China. Address non-conformances during development and initial production phases.

·      Standards & Methodology Application: Apply relevant industrial standards in the qualification process and maintain internal standards, including those specific to hearing aids. Utilize statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, Reliasoft) and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Six Sigma).

·      Cross-functional Collaboration & Supplier Development: Work closely with colleagues in Germany, Singapore, and China. Foster a quality culture within cross-functional teams and support capability building at supplier sites.

·      Continuous Improvement: Develop new processes and test methods to enhance qualification effectiveness and efficiency.

More about you:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in qualifying consumer electronics products.
• Strong knowledge of industrial standards and qualification methodologies.
• Experience with FMEA, statistical analysis tools (Minitab, Reliasoft), and structured problem-solving (8D, Six Sigma).
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and collaborate with international counterparts.
• Meticulous attention to detail, result-driven mindset, and excellent communication skills.
• Conversational proficiency in English is required.
• Preferred qualifications: Certification as a Quality Engineer, Reliability Engineer, or Six Sigma Black Belt. Experience in the hearing aid industry is a strong plus.
