R&D Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven R&D Project Manager to lead the end-to-end development of headphone products under the “China for China” initiative. This role is critical in delivering locally relevant, high-quality audio solutions tailored specifically for the Chinese market, from concept through commercialization.

More about the role:

• Lead cross-functional R&D projects for headphone products, ensuring alignment with China-specific user needs, market trends, and business objectives.
• Own the full product development lifecycle: define project scope, timeline, budget, and resource requirements; coordinate industrial design, acoustics, hardware, software, supply chain, and quality teams.
• Drive timely execution of milestones in line with stage-gate processes, proactively identifying and mitigating technical, schedule, or cost risks.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between local R&D, global engineering teams, and regional marketing/sales functions to ensure seamless collaboration and knowledge transfer.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and sustainability requirements throughout the development process.
• Support post-launch activities including performance review, lessons learned, and continuous improvement of R&D processes.

More about you:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in R&D project or program management within consumer electronics, preferably in audio/wearable products.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering hardware products from concept to mass production in the China market.
• Strong understanding of headphone technologies (e.g., ANC, Bluetooth, battery systems, materials) and China’s consumer preferences.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills; comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Fluent in Mandarin and professional proficiency in English.
