Product Marketing Specialist will be responsible for delivering Product Development marketing deliverables for aspirational lifestyle pickups and off-road capable sport utility vehicles.
Responsibilities
• Assist marketing representative for assigned future product programs, representing the voice of the China market and the target customer, and serve as the subject matter expert on pickups and off-road sport utilities
• Support the key deliverables for the Product Marketing Manager on developing and obtaining consensus within the JMC Ford Product Development organization for the following:
- Strategic intent of the programs for the China brand/product portfolio
- Target customer definition and nameplate brand positioning
- Identification of product innovation and feature opportunities as well as required services and experiences to win over and delight customers
- Integration of market brand strategy (both primary and vehicle line brands) into vehicle line product assumptions
- Development of market equation (volume, mix, revenue, variable marketing, and fixed marketing)
- Futuring of segment, competitive set, vehicle product needs, and customer requirements
- Ongoing product improvement, profit improvement, and complexity reduction efforts
• Support the marketing research team to deliver research requirements
• Collaborate with the accessories team to ensure the accessory plan is in place at vehicle production start
• Support marketing communications (brand, digital, social, PR, etc.) team with the vehicle marketing launch process
Qualification
•A bachelor’s degree in engineering or marketing; MBA preferred
•5+ years of experience in marketing, product planning, or product development, preferably within automotive industry
•Knowledge of the automotive industry, segmentation, competitive environment, and target customer profile development
•Understanding of marketing’s role in the product development process
• Understanding of customer needs assessment, automotive product development, and market research
• Exceptional data analysis skills
•Ability to effectively communicate and persuade others
•Ability to champion the Ford in the China market, and the customer within the cross-functional program environment
•Strong people relationship skills
•Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to generate ideas and work out practical solutions with cross-functional teams
•Knowledge and insight into the current China off-road/ boxy SUV & Pickup segment
•Fluent in English, spoken and written
•CEO mentality: eager to proactively look for opportunities to delight customers and improve the business
•Self-starter: ability to take on responsibility with minimal supervision
