Responsibilities
• Developing robust stamping processes for all components and liaising with tooling suppliers accordingly.
• Hands on stamping draw dev, 3DDP skills , high level CAD skills with Catia V5 or UG, good skills on CAE software of Autoform or Dyna Form. Assist in the development of stamping part feasibility and process.
• High level CAD surface skills on stamping tooling class A morphing and surface quality check and build;
• Lead on Global stamping UN panel PDPD process development and MUD% improvement method.
• Lead engineer and main interface with Ford Global & LCC stamping suppliers on stamping process, DRI for Virtual PIST/ FPA result and MUD optimization. DRI all try out issue related to direct response process;
• Optimize current procedure for 2D/ 3D Process check list and guidelines. Own process and proactively involve in tooling try out at FPG, die buy off and final correction loop. Update process information base on construction feedback to iterate process maturity for future program reference;
• Liaising with NA process team to get alignment and guide stamping tooling suppliers to follow up.
• Understanding CAD and surface requirements at all milestones in order to align component development with Product Development timeline.
• May require infrequent travel to support supplier reviews, less than 20%.
• Strong technical skills on: Die strength analysis, Die interference check, Analyze automation possibility risks and propose solutions for processors and or die designers. Simulate automation in Delmia or other automation software to meet expected SPM. Solid understand for die material choosing, component, casting, welding method and coating & co develop technology with outside venders.
• Lead on die design standard and automation related new technologies to drive die standard, investment efficiency improvement (optimize die size, weight, material, components, coating etc.) Bench mark the best and continuously improve global die standard, design review process.
• Liaise and review with process / simulation engineers to facilitate issue resolution, co-develop SPL or standard to address cross team issues.
• May require infrequent travel within China suppliers to support design reviews. program coordination, tryout. Supporting tooling follow up team on die design automation issues based on request.
