-To provide effective legal counsel to China Business Unit and designated enabling functions (for example, Public Affairs, Compliance) through business partnering, acting as a legal advisor and Business Partner by shaping their business decisions, negotiating contracts, managing litigation and counselling on substantive area legal issues. To lead or support complex legal projects and business development transactions based on deep legal expertise.

Reporting line: to Country Legal Head

Major accountabilities:

•Act as a legal Business Partner to China lead team members in all activities from contractual negotiations to fulfilling statutory obligations.

•Draft contracts independently and provide complex and contextual legal advice and guidance (incl. training of key customers in specified legal areas).

•Identify risks relating to business activities and potential solutions thereof

raise business’ awareness of legal issues and ensure early legal involvement.

•Conduct robust risk assessments that substantiate recommendations, and advise on and determine appropriate actions to support the management decision processes.

•Manage disputes and litigation and/or external investigations.

•Lead large or complex legal projects and transactions based on deep legal expertise and provide legal support for commercial initiatives and activities.

Minimum Requirements:

Work Experience:

•Solid experiences at reputable law firm. 8+years PQE.

•Overseas education and experience is a plus.

•Understanding of the role of in-house legal team.

Skills:

•Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

•Business Acumen and ability to provide pragmatic solutions.

•Compliance risk awareness.

•Conflict Management.

•Experiences in advising pharmaceutical sector business activities is a plus.

Languages :

•Fluent in English and Chinese
