Primary Function:
The Dry Coil Project Manager is a dual-role position responsible for both leading the design, installation, and commissioning of new dry coil production unit, managing ongoing coil and related products production operations. This role ensures seamless integration of new manufacturing capabilities while optimizing day-to-day safety, efficiency, quality, and output. The ideal candidate combines expertise in project management, HVAC manufacturing, and production leadership to drive high-quality dry coil fabrication.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Project Management Focus:
• Production unit Design & Setup:
o Lead end-to-end projects for new dry coil production unit, including layout design, equipment readiness, process validation and team forming.
o Manage vendor relationships for equipment procurement, FAT, installation, SAT and commissioning.
• Budget & Timeline Oversight:
o Develop and manage project budgets (CAPEX) , ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
o Track project milestones using tools like Gantt charts or MS Project, mitigating risks of delays or cost overspending.
• Compliance & Validation:
o Ensure new lines comply with AHRI, ASHRAE, ISO, and safety standards (OSHA/EPA).
o Oversee IQ/OQ protocols for equipment and process validation.
Production Management Focus:
• Daily Operations Leadership:
o Manage dry coil production safety and 4M1E to drive production sustainable excellence.
o Manage day-to-day production activities for dry coil manufacturing, ensuring targets for output, OEE and scrap rates are met.
o Optimize workflows using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, 5S) to reduce cycle times and waste.
• Quality & Performance:
o Partner with QA teams to enforce strict quality standards, including leak testing, dimensional checks, and thermal performance validation.
o Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for defects and implement corrective actions (e.g., 8D).
• Team Development:
o Train and mentor production people on new equipment, processes and safety regulations.
o Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
• Resource & Cost Management:
o Monitor production KPIs (safety, quality, OEE, downtime, labor productivity) and drive initiatives to reduce costs (material, energy, labor).
o Manage inventory levels for critical materials (copper tubes, aluminum fins) to avoid production delays.
Qualifications:
• Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering. MBA or PMP certification is a plus.
• Experience:
o 3+ years in production line setup/project management, with 3+years in HVAC manufacturing production management.
o Proven experience managing dry coil production processes (fin press, tube expanding, brazing) and process troubleshooting.
• Technical Skills:
o project management tools (MS Project, JIRA), ERP/MRP systems.
o Strong knowledge of Lean or TPS, Six Sigma is plus.
• Soft Skills:
o Exceptional leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities.
o Ability to quick learning.
o Fluent English speaking and writing.
• Preferred Qualifications:
o Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies (IoT-enabled equipment, predictive maintenance).
o Familiarity with HVAC standards (AHRI, ASHRAE)
• Physical Requirements:
o Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
o Split between office (about 40%) and plant floor (about 60%)
