We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Banks and Broker Dealers Chief Engineer.

Business: Markets & Sec Services Tech

Principal responsibilities

Evangelize and influence engineering best practices within BBD and with the wider engineering community

Own and evolve the strategy of the Practice Family within BBD

Own the governance around standards and tooling across BBD

Collaborate with Platform Leads to define missing standards

Support the Platform Leads to drive standards and tools across engineering pods

Align approaches with the other Engineering Practices within the organisation

Define metrics and monitor efficiencies of the BBD Family initiatives

Help address skill gaps in engineering pods by providing upskilling / training opportunities

Support the Platform Leads to identify solutions to engineering gaps / challenges

Facilitate development of cross-functional capabilities to address common gaps / challenges

Help remove blockers on adoption of Engineering initiatives

Evangelize good solutions achieved within platforms / pods with the wider engineering community

Promote the culture of We build and we maintain

Promote re-use rather than re-invent

Communication & Leadership

Has had experience of presenting to medium / large audiences (50+)

Able to facilitate collaboration between stakeholders

Able to listen and evaluate input from a diverse source and identify appropriate next steps

Technical Skill

Is tech-forward in thinking, actively researching new ideas / processes and is the driving force to adopt them

Is a generalist with the breadth and depth of experience in CICD best practices and has core experience in one of the following areas: Software Development.

Secure coding / SDLC / API development / clean code management) Testing (ie. TDD / BDD / Automated testing / Contract testing / API testing) Site Reliability Engineering

Release engineering / Observability / Risk management

Can apply their thinking to many problems across multiple technical domains

Demonstrates mastery of their technical discipline

Contributes to architectural discussions by asking the right questions to ensure a solution matches the business needs
