We are seeking independent and creative Research Investigators to join Dr. Gu’s group.
Dr. Wei Gu recently joined BeiGene as the research chief of BeiGene Institute. The main research focuses of Dr. Gu’s group are:
-gastric-intestinal cancer development and new therapeutic target discovery
-gut hormone discovery
-gut stem cell biology and cell therapy potentials.
Job responsibilities:
The successful candidates will:
-Initiate and conduct independent research
-Collaborate with other group members to drive innovation and productivity
-Mentor and support junior staff members
Requirements:
-The success applicants will have a Ph.D. in 2022 or earlier.
-The applicants should have a solid background and significant experience in one or more of the following areas:
stem cell biology, cancer biology, multi-omics integration, and metabolism biology
-A solid record of scientific accomplishment
-Ability to independently design and execute experiments, interpret data, and identify appropriate follow-up strategies
-Ability to collaborate in a dynamic environment
-Ability to write and publish manuscripts
-Specialized skills: (key skills are highlighted)
Molecular Biology: Molecular Cloning and Vector Designation (Adenovirus, Lentivirus), siRNA and shRNA knockdown, CRISPR (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats)-Cas9 Knock-out and Knock-in, Domain deletion, Eptopic expression, qPCR, PAGE, Western Blotting, ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence, IP(Immunoprecipitation).
Cell Biology: Cell lines culture, Primary cell culture, 3D organoids culture (intestinal stem cell), 3D carcinoma and IBD organoids culture, Cell sorting, Cell functions (isotope labeling, MTT, Edu, TUNEL, Seahorse cell respiration), Aerobic and anaerobic bacterial culture.
Animal Research: Animal Care, handling and breeding, drug delivery (IP, SC, Gavage, IV), Survival blood collection, Intestinal immune cell isolation, mouse models setup (obesity, diabetes, colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease), Gut physiology analysis (nutrient absorption, gut motility, gut permeability, gastric emptying).
Big Data Science: Bulk RNA-seq analysis, ATAC-Seq, ChIP-Seq etc.
