1. Lead the development, or review of safety work products for clients seeking compliance to standards in functional safety and related fields, including ISO 26262, ISO 21448, UL 4600 and other similar standards relevant to systems- and software- engineering.

2. Lead the development, or review of safety processes and related safety management processes for clients seeking to compliance to standards in functional safety and related fields, including ISO 26262, ISO 21448, UL 4600, and other similar standards relevant to systems- and software- engineering.

3. Employ established methods and frameworks, relevant to functional safety and related fields, to lead the engineering development or review of safety cases for complex software-intensive systems. (Examples of such systems may include self-driving vehicles, industrial automation systems, battery and energy storage systems in both vehicle and stationary applications, and related systems.) Methods and frameworks may include safety analysis such as FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, safety requirements management, safety concepts such as FSC/TSC work products, system and software architectures, HIL and SIL test, system integration test, vehicle integration test, and system/vehicle validation.

4. Lead full training events in topics relevant to functional safety and related fields, including ISO 26262, ISO 21448, UL 4600, and other similar standards.

5. Lead client programs, including major/large-scale client programs, by interacting regularly with clients in technical program meetings and project reviews. Address client concerns and to resolve client issues. Provide expert technical leadership and guidance to clients in reference to functional safety and related technical fields. Projects may include regular travel to client sites and to other UL locations.

6. Contribute to the strategic direction of the business by providing technical and market expertise to management planning and report-out activities.

7. Communicate project status and results to clients through frequent contact, reports and written communication, and interactions with client’s executive-level leadership. Comfortable working in a dynamic,

1. University Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science Engineering or a closely related field in a relevant technical field plus 3-5 or more years of experience.

2. Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline.

3. Working knowledge of conformity standards in use in area of expertise.

4. Working knowledge of industry issues, needs, and problems.
