职位描述

This role will be instrumental in shaping the future of skincare, driving sensory excellence across a diverse range of products:

 

1. Skincare Project Management and Business Impact

 

• Lead and manage sensory projects for a broad spectrum of skincare categories.

 

• Engage deeply into key projects/needs, work with métier and category leaders to ensure relevancy of tests, clarify background and objectives from test requests.

 

• Design appropriate methodologies and experimental designs (including ad-hoc tests for specific issues and panel tests) to answer the project’s need.

 

• Oversee the execution of sensory tests, ensuring adherence to established protocols, data integrity, and ethical guidelines.

 

• Interpret sensory data to identify key insights, trends, and correlations between sensory and consumer perception/preference. And translate technical sensory findings into clear, actionable recommendations for development and communication.

 

• Proactively partner with valorization team and DMI to strategically embed sensory insights throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to launch.

 

2. Sensory Panel Stewardship & Digital Transformation

 

• Lead and optimize the management of sensory panel, ensuring the highest standards of quality, training, and performance.

 

• Train and supervise panel leader assistant to deliver data timely with high quality. Own panel leader assistant engagement and development.

 

• leading the implementation and optimal utilization of digital tools and platforms for panel test arrangement and management, data analysis and reporting.

 

• Apply advanced statistical methodologies and machine learning algorithms to sensory data and other relevant data, moving beyond descriptive analysis to predictive modeling.

 

• Identify and integrate cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies into sensory research methodologies to enhance predictive capabilities, optimize panel efficiency, and accelerate product development cycles.

 

3. Sensory Methodology Innovation & Development

 

• Sound knowledge of both sensory and consumer testing techniques. Collaborate closely with the Consumer Insights team to integrate qualitative and quantitative consumer understanding, ensuring sensory innovation is directly aligned with unmet consumer needs and market opportunities.

 

• Contribute to the exploration, validation, and strategic implementation of advanced sensory methodologies, digital tools or AI, accelerating innovation and enhancing predictive capabilities.

 

• Build internal capabilities in sensory data science, contributing specialized knowledge and providing guidance in statistical analysis, machine learning, and AI applications within the sensory domain, helping to elevate the overall data science capabilities of the team.

 

Requirements:

 

• Master’s degree or above, (Sensory, Behavioral Psychology, Applied statistics)

 

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience (negotiable depends on candidate quality and degree)

 

Experience of sensory methodologies and statistical analysis

 

• Preferably with international company experience in FMCG or agency or cosmetic or product testing .Knowledge of cosmetics industry is a plus

 

• Fluent Chinese and English

 

Technical Skills:

 

• Demonstrated experience in sensory panel management, including recruitment, training, performance monitoring and industry-standard statistical software for sensory data (e.g., Fizz, SPSS)

 

• Proven experience in utilizing advanced statistics or artificial intelligence to drive advanced sensory data prediction.

 

• Solid understanding of applying programming languages (e.g., R, Python etc.) to perform complex statistical analysis and machine learning applications.

 

• Good knowledge about digital tools and AI applications.

 

• Understanding of psychophysics and consumer behavior principles.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

 

• Curiosity and a passion for understanding human behavior and product experience.

 

• Fast learner, with the ability to quickly grasp new concepts, methodologies, and technologies.

 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

 

• Positive thinking, can-do attitude, proactive attitude and energetic

 

• Good communication and presentation skills and willing to express
