As a Strategic Sourcing Senior Analyst I at Mars you will be accountable for bringing visibility to all embedded rail and truck freight costs that are currently supplier managed, and capturing any corresponding savings opportunities identified as a result. You will also work to improve freight rate negotiations, and plan a more structured, resilient freight network.
What are we looking for?
3 years of sourcing and/or logistics management.
An in depth understanding of managing inventory in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated negotiation skills, including working with RFPs.
Bachelors degree at a minimum.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Creating and executing a plan that brings clarity to total cost of supply (material and freight) and de-bundles freight costs from raw material unit price.
Benchmarking the supplier freight price versus the should-cost to develop an overall cost target and freight bid process.
Negotiate with suppliers/service providers to identify optimal freight, material, and service contract terms.
