WPP Media is seeking a Media Solutions Manager to join our team. Based in Shanghai, this role reports directly to the Managing Director of WPP Media Solutions, China.
The GM will partner closely with WPP Media agencies to deliver diversified, high-quality media solutions for clients across digital and OOH platforms. Leading the Solutions Team, you will oversee the full lifecycle of solution development—from design, testing to launch—to ensure WPP Media clients access best-in-class tools and capabilities.
1. Market & Client Insight
Ø Conduct in-depth analysis of media and advertising industry trends to identify market opportunities from client interviews
Ø Define target client personas and map the product roadmap for solutions accordingly.
2. Solution Design & Development
Ø Support the design of new media solutions: support to develop detailed Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and business cases, clearly articulating product value, functional specs, technical framework, and business models.
Ø Coordinate and drive cross-functional teams to ensure on-time, high-quality development and launch of solutions.
3. Go-to-market & Sales Enablement Support
Ø Develop sales collateral: e.g., selling deck, sales narratives, whitepapers, etc.
Ø Develop and deliver proof-of-concepts spanning campaign planning, activation, measurement, and reporting; capture and scale success stories for all launched solutions.
1. Business-technical-media translator: Excels at combining technical expertise with Media Expertise (online/offline territories, performance/search/social, data-tech driven planning) to solve complex business challenges; understands the technical, commercial, and media-specific implications of Ad Tech, with strong multi-project management abilities.
2. MarTech/Ad Tech authority: Demonstrates deep expertise in MarTech, Ad Tech, DMP providers, and web analytics.
3. Innovative disruptor: Thinks creatively, challenges industry norms, and drives improvements to product offerings.
4. Tech-driven leader: Passionate about technology-enabled innovation; thrives on building solutions that maintain WPP Media’s competitive advantage.

1. 3-5 years of relevant experience: Deep expertise across media, performance marketing, social media, data, and Ad Tech—with a track record of consultative client/partner engagement.
2. Narrative & presentation skills: Creates clear, compelling solution narratives (via PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) and delivers them persuasively.
3. Agency expertise: Experience working in an agency environment; deep understanding of agency media campaign planning and execution processes.
4. Project management: Excellent ability to independently lead multiple complex projects from initiation to delivery.
5. Fluent in written and oral English is preferred.
