• Own the Control Operation and Governance for CIB & HCIB Technology on Infrastructure Control areas including but not limited to IDAM, ITOP, ITAM and Capacity Management.

• Take part in the organization strategy design and execution in support of delivering best-in-class infrastructure control services for the business.

• Actively drive improvements and automation to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness of control governance and operation across the organization. Utilize technologies to analyze data from various IT operations tools, generating reports, enabling proactive detection and resolution of issues.

• Actively engage application end-users to understand customer requirements and work collaboratively with Group CTO functions to improve control operation and drive tangible business-aligned improvements.

• Identify and lead other innovations / initiatives which will result in efficiency and quality improvements and uplift service resilience capabilities for the organization. Drive modernization of on-premises and cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.

• Builds and maintains relations between the organizational end-users, the product teams and management teams across CTO and CIB & HCIB Technology.

• Ensure high quality outcomes that are performant and in line with business requirements and within agreed costs and timescales.

• Establish and execute a vision to plan, deliver, and support solutions in a complex technology environment. The ideal candidate must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.

• The ideal candidate will have a strong and solid experience of leading organizational control operation and governance to ensure control effectiveness.

• Strong, credible technical background with extensive knowledge of technology platforms and infrastructure (including but not limited to Unix, Databases and Middleware technologies). Extensive experience on cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.

• Proven experience in driving automation adoption for improving infrastructure control operation.

• Proven problem solver who can lead from the front when required. Able to take a hands on/off view when managing problems.

• Customer Focus – proven capabilities in listening to customer requirements. Put the customer at the heart of everything we do.

• Proven ability to navigate HSBC teams and structures – the ideal candidate will already have a stellar network within HSBC.

• Proven experience in managing senior stakeholders and coordinating global teams with a clear understanding of the communication strategies required to handle both.

• Excellent communication and writing skills to build and maintain effective relationships with the user community and global control owners. Articulate, fluent in English and Cantonese.
