Total Reward Manager– APAC & China

 

The Senior Total Reward Analyst plays a critical role in providing expert guidance, coordination, and support for the effective implementation of total reward programs, policies, and practices across the APAC and China regions for all group companies in line with the Sonova Group Total Reward policies. The goal is to align these programs with Global Total Reward guidance and market best practices, thereby attracting, retaining, and motivating top talent. Additionally, the analyst provides strategic counsel, training, and support to the APAC and China Human Resources teams as needed, all while supporting the company's overarching strategic objectives.

 

You will be based in Shanghai, reporting to the APAC Total Rewards Director.

In this role you will power every reward decision with rock-solid market intelligence and flawless execution across APAC and China.

 

  • Market Intelligence & Benchmarking
    • Conduct end-to-end compensation & benefit surveys and proprietary spot analyses.
    • Actively monitor industry trends and competitor practices to identify opportunities for differentiation and improvement in our total rewards strategy.
  • Salary Structures & Annual Cycles
    • Regularly review and update salary structures to reflect market changes and organizational growth and ensure alignment with the company's overall talent strategy.
    • Support the implementation of new compensation and benefits programs that align with the company's strategic goals and objectives in the APAC and China regions e.g. annual salary review cycle, annual EEAP nomination cycle etc.
  • Job Evaluation & Governance
    • Calibrate every APAC & China role with HRBPs using Standard  Grading; keep job catalogue current and compliant.Vet all pay-change requests against global guidelines; flag risk and recommend fixes.
    • Turn employee & job data into quick-hit insights on levelling gaps, pay equity or promotion bottlenecks.
  • Data Analytics & Improvement
    • Work with local SSC and global TR project team to implement changes. Utilize advanced data analytics tools to gain deeper insights into employee and job data and develop actionable recommendations for improving our total rewards programs.
  • Benefits Design & Vendor Management
    • Benchmark retirement, risk and wellness schemes; negotiate renewals that balance cost, compliance and employee experience.
    • Maintain vendor scorecards; lead RFPs when required.
  • Compliance & Risk
    • Ensure every programme meets local labour, tax and data-privacy statutes; support internal and external audits with full documentation.

 

 

More about you:  

  • 5+ years of progressive C&B or Total Rewards experience in multinational environments, preferably medical device, life-science or tech.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, Economics, Statistics or Business; Master’s or global CCP (WorldatWork) strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on expertise with at least two major survey databases (Mercer, WTW, Radford, Aon).
  • Advanced Excel & Power BI skills; SAP SuccessFactors or ADP experience a plus; Python knowledge welcome.
  • Comfortable managing multiple Asian currencies, regulatory regimes and collective-bargaining environments.
  • Analytical mindset with forensic attention to detail; ability to deliver executive-ready insights under tight timelines.
  • Collaborative style that builds trust with HRBPs, Finance, Legal and business leaders at all levels.
  • Native-level Mandarin and fluent English; additional APAC language an advantage.
