BU / FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
Roofline product portfolio is part of the Systems sub vertical of Industrial Business unit. TE provides solutions for high voltage applications in rolling stock that enable the optimized interaction and inter-operability of various rail approved high voltage components such as polymeric insulators, vacuum circuit breakers, inter-car jumper cables, and surge arresters. To help ensure the optimized performance of the high voltage components as they work together, TE offers system solutions to focus on the functionality of the system and not only on the components.
ROLE OBJECTIVE
This role is a technical role and as such requires technical expertise and the ability to approve or consult to derive appropriate technical actions and decisions. This role also requires technical expertise in HV product development and life cycle engineering such that projects from scratch to production are handled independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide technical authority and guidance for all High Voltage Rail products systems and services.
· Support the technology road map of Roofline engineering as a key technical lead in development projects
· Ensure all technical requirements are defined, met and authorised in line with internal, customer, end user and international standards.
· Work with Customer in generating winning concepts thereby generating New Product Streams
· Technical execution for design, development, qualification, and product release
· Independently handle multiple Engineering development projects from Sketch to Production
· Lead and conduct to product design and development activities such as:
ü Voice of Customer
ü Product requirement documentation
ü DFMEA
ü FEA Simulations – Thermal, Mechanical and Electrical
ü Product Specifications
ü Qualification Requirements & Planning: Internal and to Rail Standard
ü Product Qualification and Verification Review
ü Operating Manuals
ü Design Reviews
ü Signoff on Qualification test reports
· Customer technical liaison to support both post-sale in-service products and new projects.
· Lead structured fault diagnosis & analysis of field failure of various components. Recommend actions
· Working in solid modelling and mechanical drawing using CREO Pro/E and PDMLink product data management software.
· Preparation of detailed drawings for manufacturing.
· Support manufacturing during pilot run of new products.
