About this role

The Government Affairs Manager, under the direction of the team leader, supports the development and implementation of governmental affairs strategy, drive advocacy in public policy areas and supports critical issues management with government and regulatory authorities, trade associations & other external stakeholders to solve critical issues impacting our license to operate and facilitate favorable environment to support business objectives.

This includes responsibility to analyze and resolve complex policies and problems, examine information from multiple sources, and use judgement to propose solutions for a desired outcome.

Responsibilities

•Track relevant government macro policies or legislative moves on industrial policy, energy, carbon and environmental protection, safety operation and related fields and provide high quality analysis and policy briefing to support business decision making

•Build strong connections and collaboration with target government agencies and associations or external platforms to shape a favorable policy environment. Identify and explore outreach and engagement opportunities to support that objectives.

•Work with internal subject matter experts to help assess the impact of policy and draft policy proposals and put forward suggestions or mitigation proposals when necessary

•Contributes to the development of materials for meetings and other events involving government representatives

•Work as GA partner to support the work of specific Issue Management teams as needed

•Coordinates various events and participates in programs to promote and improve the company's image

•Support critical GA projects and events etc.

Qualifications

•Bachelor's Degree or above

•A minimum of 8 years of experience in government affairs, public policy or related fields

Your Skills

•Working experience in the central government is an asset Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

•Ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize workload effectively.

•Proven record of good written skills on policy analysis, briefing material, and legislative proposal
