Responsibilities:
1. Design and visually develop effects for real time 3D games.
2. Work closely with the Art Director, engineers, and designers to create high quality visual effects that clearly sell gameplay requirements.
3. With a high level of technical understanding be able to evaluate and implement performance optimizations.
4. Be well versed in various software and pipelines and understand how and when best to apply which pipeline for greatest impact.
5. Retain and grow a deep knowledge of the game’s mechanics to most effectively craft vfx that clearly communicate game critical information.
6. Able to impart, mentor and develop more junior artists in best practices and approaches.
7. Gather suitable reference for guidance for themselves and others.

Qualifications:
1. Have related Game industry working experience.
2. Strong proficiency in 3D software with Maya, Max, Blender, etc. Strong proficiency in 2D software with Adobe Photoshop, SubstanceDesigner, etc.
Proficient in using Houdini, Blender, and other tools to simulate fluid rendering for game assets. Strong proficiency in game engines with Unreal or Unity, including the Niagara system.
1. Solid understanding of computer graphic fundamentals and video game art production pipelines
2. Strong traditional art background with a thorough understanding of art fundamentals such as color theory, light, shade, and form
3. Worked on at least one successfully shipped title
4. Ability to self-manage and prioritize multiple requests in a dynamic environment
5. Excellent communication skills
6. Demonstrated ability to own and drive
7. Plus: MMO game experience // Modeling, Rigging, and Animation experience // Experience with lighting and rendering
WITH YOUR APPLICATION
1. Please show samples of your work that show your ability to create models and/or texture maps used by your vfx.

3. Images of sprites, textures and/or recorded effects in action are helpful
