PIM Design Engineer
To ensure product design in compliance with PIM requirement, your work intends to ensure and product HW PIM performance and fulfill lifetime design. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF engineering, mechanical design knowledge, hands-on experience in troubleshooting and mitigating PIM issues, and a proven track record in optimizing hardware designs to minimize PIM effects. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to drive PIM performance improvements, conduct in-depth analysis, and develop innovative solutions to enhance the PIM performance of our products.
Responsibilities
· Participate in pre-study and PCS/DMS
· Responsible for verification case estimation in VEM
· Lead PIM hardware optimization efforts across multiple product lines, ensuring compliance with industry standards and Ericsson internal requirements
· Perform detailed analysis and troubleshooting of PIM issues in RF components, mechanical parts, antennas, and other hardware elements, and follow up trouble report (TR)
· Collaborate with design, testing, and production teams to identify and implement hardware design improvements aimed at reducing PIM effects
· Conduct thorough PIM link budget studies and allocation to optimize system performance
· Drive innovation in PIM hardware optimization through the development of new tools, methods, and test fixtures
· Lead discussions and contribute to vendor selection for PIM-optimized hardware components
· Provide technical guidance and support to other engineering teams on PIM-related issues and best practices.
· Utilize advanced simulation and modeling tools to predict and analyze PIM performance in different hardware configurations.
Requirements and Qualifications
· Master’s or bachelor’s degree, major in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field. Ph.D. is a plus
· Excellent knowledge/experience of PIM theory and method
· Good knowledge of Wireless Communication product
· Good knowledge on radio product design
· Good knowledge on mechanical, antenna design
· Proven experience in optimizing PIM performance in RF/microwave hardware components, preferably within the telecommunications or wireless industry.
· Proficiency in using simulation and modeling tools such as CST, HFSS, or other EM simulation tools for PIM analysis and optimization.
· Strong understanding of RF principles, transmission line theory, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) considerations.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
· Effective communication skills and ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Familiar with relevant Environment verification (Climatic, Mechanical, and so on)
