As a manager of customer project, the HW TPjM(Hardware Technical Project Manager) is the main project management responsible role within the engineering unit and the main interface to the product Business Unit/external customer for topics related to HW. In the business unit engineering, the role of the HW TPjM and the role of the overall TPM cooperate to cover the project management responsibilities in this area. (Hint: HW = Electronics + Mechanics + HW Validation + Production Testing + Manufacturing (incl. Sample Shop))
•is the interface to the BUs and/or external customers (in alignment with overall TPjM) for all HW related topics.
•is responsible for planning and execution of HW development scope, timing and R&D budget in the project lifecycle.
•is responsible to initiate and track measures to reach the agreed target costs and development effort.
•Leads the business unit's engineering team within the project, focus on hardware.
•Determines the development strategies within the BU engineering.
•Verifies the stakeholder requirements to be considered for the project scope that are in responsibility of the engineering business unit with project overall TPjM.
•Defines technical project metrics of hardware.
•prepares and presents technical, commercial and timing status of the HW project within HWP and BU.
•aligns and determines the development strategies within the HW project, e.g. sample release planning according overall and Hardware project schedule.
•supports customer (OEM) launch management which is lead by CPjM.
•coordinates the engineering samples used from BU internal employees.
•Bachelor’s degree or above hardware-engineering/electronics/Vehicle-engineering/Automation/control-engineering
•More than 5 years of relevant experience in hardware design and project management in the automotive field
•Basic software language skill (C language/C++ language/Assembly programming)
•With development or management experience in the fields of driving, cockpits product.
•Familiar with the product developing process and hardware test/validation method
•Familiar with Global OEM/COEM vehicle developing process
•Familiar with APQP/PPAP/FMEA and other Q method
•Preferred industry: automotive, Also: consumer electronics
•Excellent communication and cooperation skills
•Excellent written and oral English
•Intercultural sensitivity
•PMP and ACP are preferred.
