1. Draft, review, evaluate, negotiate, and execute a variety of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, vendor partnerships, and client deals, ensuring favorable terms for the organization.
2. Maintain and update a centralized repository of all contract documentation, tracking communications, renewals, extensions, and close-outs to optimize business outcomes.
3. Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., procurement, finance, sales) and external parties (e.g., clients, suppliers) to identify needs, resolve issues, and foster professional relationships.
4. Monitor contract performance, ensure compliance with legal standards, company policies, and industry regulations, while identifying and mitigating risks such as non-compliance or financial exposure.
5. Interpret contractual clauses, provide guidance to stakeholders on obligations, and support business development through strategic negotiations and commercial planning.
6. Analyze contract impacts on business operations, report on key metrics (e.g., compliance rates, cost savings), and handle disputes or amendments as needed.
7. Oversee commercial activities to ensure profitability, including market analysis, supplier relationship management, and post-signature value realization.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree (e.g., MBA) is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years in contract management, procurement, legal, or commercial roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity involving negotiation and risk assessment. Experience in renewable energy industries is advantageous.
Certifications: Professional certifications such as those from the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) for commercial or federal contracts are highly desirable.
1. Strong negotiation and communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively engage stakeholders and present contract details.
2. Proficiency in legal interpretation, risk management, and financial analysis to evaluate contract viability and business impacts.
3. Detail-oriented organizational abilities, with confidence in decision-making and problem-solving under pressure.
4. Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and document management systems.
5. Commercial acumen, including strategic planning, stakeholder management, and analytical thinking to align contracts with organizational goals.
6. Ability to work independently or in teams in fast-paced, hybrid/remote environments.
