This individual will be responsible for product development for home care product (detergent powder, liquid, fabri conditioner, householder care product and bar) for Great China. He or she will lead innovation/renovation/value improvement projects, along with miscellaneous product deployment tasks for Home Care business, Great China.
Key accountabilities are:
• Mainly support day to day routine product development tasks (50%)
• Perform knowledge/expertise based formulation design tasks that are medium to high in complexity (15%)
• Coordinate project activities and SCS (35%)
Detailed below:
A) Executing routine product development tasks:
• Sample preparation for tests/evaluations
• Operate and report values of standard equipments for formulation assessment
• Support pilot scale up work
• Do formulation costing
• Monitor competitor new launches and product analysis.
• Manage new product specification with specification and MET team
• Raise clearances such as patent/regulatory/Safety
• Use LIMS/PLM to set up and manage RM inventory/Sampling/Formulation/Processing/Product Stability database.
B) Performing the following knowledge/expertise based tasks:
• Design formulation based on North Asia consumer understanding, knowledge of formulation principles, knowledge of competitor formulations, and knowledge of Chinese national standards
• Assess and analyse product appraisal/storage etc. data
• Write supplier briefs and communicate with material suppliers to ensure they deliver as per needs
C) Co-ordinating project activities and SCS:
• Ensure that formulation tasks are executed as per project network timelines
• Represent product development in project team meetings
• Support the Technical Project Leader in project management activities & engaging with multiple functions such as brand, finance, Supply Chain
• Lead low to medium complex project
• Provide technical expertise to support supply chain trouble shooting
