"为人类的可持续未来解决挑战"
About the Role
As a BESS Power Market Analyst, you will support strategic decision-making across global power markets by analyzing market rules, forecasting prices, evaluating investment opportunities, and enabling asset optimization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including trading, finance, strategy, and development—to drive value across the full lifecycle of battery energy storage assets. This includes market participation, project siting, and supporting asset M&A and sales negotiations through detailed revenue modeling and risk assessments.
Key Responsibilities
Market Policy & Regulatory Analysis
• Monitor and interpret market rules, grid codes, and regulatory changes across key global power markets (e.g. ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, ISO-NE, UK, Spain, Australia, China).
• Analyze the impact of evolving energy storage participation models (e.g. ancillary services, capacity markets, real-time balancing) on revenue potential and risk.
• Communicate regulatory intelligence and emerging market trends to internal stakeholders.
Price Forecasting & Investment Analytics
• Build and maintain power price forecasting models (DA/RT/ancillary) using fundamentals and statistical approaches.
• Quantify expected revenues from energy arbitrage, capacity payments, and ancillary services for storage and hybrid assets.
• Conduct scenario analysis to support project viability under different market, policy, and operational assumptions.
• Benchmark project economics across markets to support siting and development prioritization.
Trading Strategy & BESS Optimization
• Support development and refinement of bidding strategies for standalone and co-located storage assets in wholesale markets.
• Analyze historical dispatch, bid outcomes, and forecast accuracy to inform optimization strategies.
• Collaborate with trading and operations teams to enhance profitability, bidding automation, and real-time responsiveness.
M&A and Commercial Negotiations
• Provide analytical support for asset M&A, project sales, or strategic partnerships by building bankable revenue models and risk-adjusted return scenarios.
• Collaborate with business development and finance teams during negotiations, due diligence, and buyer/seller engagement.
• Assess market, policy, and revenue risks that could impact asset valuation or buyer confidence.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Tooling
• Partner with trading, development, strategy, finance, and data science teams to align market insights with business priorities.
• Contribute to the development of internal dashboards, reporting tools, and model documentation.
• Synthesize complex findings into actionable recommendations for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Energy Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3–7 years of experience in power market analytics, energy trading, project development, or investment advisory.
• Solid understanding of wholesale electricity market mechanics, nodal pricing, congestion management, and ancillary services.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and Excel; experience with market data APIs, visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau), or dispatch models.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
Preferred
• Prior experience supporting energy asset M&A, financial due diligence, or structured transactions.
• Hands-on experience with BESS bidding, dispatch modeling, or operations in ISO/RTO markets.
• Familiarity with market simulation tools (e.g. PLEXOS, Aurora, GridPath, PSO) and ISO data platforms (e.g. YES Energy, NREL, ENTSO-E).
• Multi-market exposure (e.g. North America + Europe/APAC) a strong advantage.
