OVERVIEW
As a Senior Quality Engineer in External Supply Chain (ESC) based in China, you will provide critical support for our external partners to assure product safety, quality and compliance to General Mills requirements. The ESC Sr. Quality Engineer role provides an opportunity to independently represent General Mills externally, support multiple manufacturing locations and work with cross functional internal and external teams. As the point of contact between GMI and our external partners you will build professional relationships and leverage your network across various GMI functions.
This position is based in China and requires regular travel to Thailand to support regional operations. No relocation will be offered.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Manage multiple ESC locations in Asia.
· Effectively lead work to close gaps related to integration of Whitebridge Pet Brands.
· Support commercialization of new products by building effective relationships with external partners to identify and eliminate food safety and regulatory risk.
· Effectively on-board new Quality Assurance team at ESC locations to assure compliance to GMI requirements through training, best practice sharing and CI activities.
· Lead continuous improvement efforts with our external partners to reduce risk, eliminate waste, and improve product quality.
· Lead risk assessments and root cause analysis activities to protect GMI brands.
· Support the new product turnover process to assure capability to manufacture products as designed.
· Up to 50% travel, including regular trips to Thailand.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or food science
· 4 years related experience; 6 years preferred
· Must be proficient in English (written and verbal)
