How you will contribute
This position will need to focus on delivering AMEA cross category Productivity objectives - including AMEA/BU cost reduction target, new supplier development, RM specification development/optimization to support business bottom-line. Working as part of cross functional teams, you lead or deliver the R&D activities required to complete product reformulation & supplier development projects with an emphasis on meeting the cost reduction objective with no quality compromise. The holder of this position will be accountable for end to end project management, covering all aspects of product development in accordance with the I2M process and R&D internal project management principles.
What you will bring
Product Formula Development:Undertake the optimization and development of existing product formulas. Leverage professional expertise to conduct technical and financial appraisals of innovative concepts and opportunities, thereby validating their feasibility. Support in formulating the project plan, which comprehensively includes project objectives, scope, initial financial targets, and key milestones.
Experimental Data Processing:Be accountable for the meticulous statistics and analysis of relevant technical data throughout the product development process, with the aim of ensuring the data's precision and reliability.
Project Promotion and Team Collaboration:Offer support to the project team in project implementation and proactively provide technical solutions to accomplish the set goals. Facilitate project progression by conducting laboratory experiments and trial production in the pilot plant, gathering data, and interpreting the results. Collaborate closely with the Consumer Science Department to evaluate samples and validate consumer acceptability. Carry out stability studies to guarantee that new products have a sufficient shelf life. Align with stakeholders, maintain seamless communication with team.
More about this role
Education / Certifications:
•BS in Food Science, Biology, Chemical Engineering required. Masters desireable.
•+3 years of work experience in food industry required with track record of successful developments, experience with cost reduction on biscuit/gum & candy/chocolate categories will be plus
•Fluent English to communicate with global colleagues and external partners.
•Strong technical expertise and problem solving capability.
•Good financial/cost sensitivity. Good market acumen and consumer centric thinking.
•Strong project management, communication skills preferred
