Job Description Summary


  • Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of technical equipment, custom engineered products, systems, software or components. Acquires and maintains understanding of technology trends, market forces, cost trends and supplier technology road maps. Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy and discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers and negotiates refunds.

  • This is an individual contributor role that requires the use of judgement in applying professional expertise and is expected to work independently with minimal supervision. Roles typically require a university degree or an extensive amount of practical knowledge gained through experience. Job requires an understanding and application of procedures and concepts of own discipline. The job requires attention to detail in making evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information. This job typically requires a degree or equivalent and a minimum of 2 or more years experience.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:


  • Continuously fully comply with all GMP, ISO 13485 and regulatory standard requirements.
  • To fulfill company policies and procedures relative to purchasing activities and follow compliance policy.
  • Manage all purchasing of activities under control and all materials supply meet demand of quality, cost, delivery, inventory and other performance goals.
  • Actively work with cross functions to understand business needs, support creation of supply base strategy and implementation.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects which drive the cost reduction, process optimization and efficiency improvement.
  • Support implementation of process to build a best in class purchasing organization.
  • Support contract negotiation and development of contract strategy.
  • Develop strong partnership relationships with key suppliers as well as other disciplines within the business.
  • Support identification of supply base risk and implementation of mitigation plans.
  • Development of score cards and business reviews for key suppliers.
  • Act as one of the major auditees during the internal and external audit.
  • May prepare and/or oversee preparation of orders and/or follow up on orders to expedite delivery and shipment.
  • Will develop and maintain necessary records and files/reporting and lead projects as assigned.
  • Build up, coach junior team member with high professional, growing ability and result-orientation to comply the company’s business target.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years operations purchasing experience in a precision engineering environment
  • 5+ years working experience in Machining industry


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in business, supply chain, purchasing, engineering or other relevant areas is preferred.
