Position Summary
The Office of Faculty Affairs Intern assists the Assistant Director of Faculty Affairs and other team members in daily operations. Tasks include hiring student teaching and research assistants, managing personnel databases, processing finance payments and ad-hoc tasks, etc. A qualified candidate must have strong sense of responsibilities and multi-tasking skills to fulfill the requests with high quality. The intern is expected to work at least 4 full days a week.
The main responsibilities include:
Academic Student Worker Management
- Support eligibility check (academic performance, working hour distribution, etc.) for undergraduate and graduate student candidates
- Contact graduate student candidates serving as teaching assistants and graders, collect required documents, and maintain personnel folders
- Prepare and archive Student Worker offers for graduate students serving as teaching assistants and graders
- Maintain Academic Student Worker databases
Academic Intern Management
- Contact candidates for required documents and maintain personnel folders
- Prepare and archive Internship Agreements
- Prepare finance payment reports for NYU-NY academic interns
- Maintain Academic Intern database
Other Ad-Hoc Support
- Prepare finance payment reports for faculty and their visiting academics and deal with complicated cases
- Make travel arrangements for faculty and their visiting academics
- Support logistics preparations for Fall 25 onboarding faculty members
- Help with office space and supplies management
- Other individual support responsibilities or team projects as assigned by supervisors
