The opportunity

We are actively seeking a distinguished professional to fulfill the role of Greater China Region Security Manager (RSM). This pivotal role is designed for an individual with a robust background in security management.

The RSM will be entrusted with the critical task of implementing and localizing EY's comprehensive security policies to address the unique threats and risks within the Greater China region. This encompasses a spectrum of responsibilities, from developing and enhancing physical security protocols to crafting and executing crisis management and business continuity strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Planning and Policy: Understand and assist in the execution of EY’s Global Security Policy. This involves a wide array of security operations, such as threat and risk monitoring, business continuity management, asset protection, travel security, and executive and meeting protection. You will also be required to identify policy gaps in EY Greater China’s operations and develop and implementing policy outcomes.

2. Physical Security: In collaboration with Workplace Services staff, assess office-specific threats and risks and recommending suitable physical security controls.

3. Business Resilience: The RSM is responsible for ensuring a crisis management plan is developed for each major office location and the Greater China Region, which include assigning a crisis management team, notifying and escalating emergencies, preparing and communicating actions, coordinating with landlords and local responders, and conducting annual training and maintenance. Greater specificity of planning and strength of resilience, where there is elevated threat and/or risk exposure (such as Papua New Guinea)

4. Security Operations: The RSM provides security risk advice, participates in compliance processes related to security disciplines, communicates awareness material, reports on the status of implementations, and supports cross-functional security initiatives. They also manage contracts and performance/governance with in-country security service providers.

5. Analytical Responsibilities: The RSM collaborates with the Regional Risk Management Leader and EY’s Global Security team to strengthen internal and external security by analyzing the business environment, geographical variations, security requirements, commercial security intelligence, and stakeholder expectations.

6. Travel Security: The RSM aids in the development and implementation of Travel Security policies and procedures, provides travel security and risk planning advice, employs mitigation measures to minimize travel risk, and coordinates with travel services providers.

7. Executive and Meeting Protection: The RSM identifies EY Executives who require protection and ensures the security of meetings and events.

Skills and attributes for success

• Demonstrated security expertise and capabilities

• Highly developed interpersonal skills capable of building and sustaining effective working relationships internally and externally across countries and cultures, largely by phone and email

• Desire to understand EY’s culture and to deliver a service which is both appropriate and of the highest quality

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills combined with the flexibility to change priorities and respond quickly according to circumstances

• At ease in a dynamic environment. Remains unruffled under substantial and sustained pressure

• The tact and awareness to be able to communicate effectively at every level of the organisation

• Innovative, highly motivated, very positive and with both the ambition and drive to succeed, and the pragmatism to develop workable solutions where EY’s unique structure requires

• Fluent communicator (both orally and in writing)

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, complemented by a minimum of three years' experience in a dynamic security environment.

• Professional certifications in security or business continuity are highly regarded.

The RSM position requires a commitment to being on call outside of standard working hours, given the nature of potential crises and the extensive geographical scope of the role. A deep comprehension of policy development, sound judgment, and a proactive stance in delivering security outcomes are fundamental to the success of this position.
