Major Accountabilities:
Responsible for assisting and developing manufacturing cost estimates for the business cases
Lead DFM/DFA workshops
Work with Engineers on initial customer & validation samples
Work with Engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable
Develop innovative processes for global implementation
Identify world class machine suppliers that can support global implementation
Develop flexible manufacturing systems specifications to meet customer requirements
Create initial Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs and Standard Work Instructions for Proto Build
Participate in test on manufacturing equipment to support global initiatives
Focal point for manufacturing technical discussions with cross functional team, management and customers
Work with Product, Quality and Plant Engineering to identify root causes of manufacturing related issues
Document and share best practices / lessons learned
Major Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Technology
Minimum 5 years’ experience required in Manufacturing Engineering, but preference will be given to those with 8+ years’ experience.
Automotive experience strongly preferred
Working knowledge of vehicle system level components and functions
Experience manufacturing electronics controllers preferred
