POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for design studies and concept studies and will serve as a liaison between BorgWarner engineering, vendors and customers to ensure product designs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Create concept and package design of turbocharger according to customer and internal requirements.
- Design and documentation of turbocharger assembly (3D/2D) incl. customer drawing.
- Detailed design and documentation of application components (3D/2D).
- Create design / material masters of turbocharger, sub-assemblies and components.
- Plan and provide design / drawings according to program timing.
- Provide CAD quality, 3D and drawing quality according to BW specifications.
- Ensure customer requirements in regards of CAD quality / settings.
- Work according to the DaRT process.
- Provide design considering costs, function and quality.
- Manages data in SAP (e.g. material masters, BOMs and classification)
- Tolerance analysis and tolerance calculation of components and systems
- Support “application-specific” design FMEA.
- Raise / track tasks / EWOs to supporting departments / platform.
- Providing design lead times to support other functions.
- Cooperation with simulation / FEA to ensure functional designs e.g. TH.
- Provide models/drawings to purchasing department.
- Internal quality involvement, APQP and supplier quality.
- Design for Value (e.g. applying standard manufacturing tolerances etc.).
- Internal manufacturing (ME) involvement.
- Change management; controlling and tracking changes throughout the component life.
